Election 2008 Sites For Kids & Moms
UPDATE: 8:00 PST YEAH TO PRESIDENT ELECT OBAMA!!
Here are some election websites to show your kids:
- PBS.org Vote 2008 (with Interactive Newshour/NPR map)
- Time for Kids
- Scholastic News Online
- Family.com Election 2008 Printables
- America.gov's Election 2008 page
- KidZui Election '08 page (where kids choose to be online friends with candidates..)
This is a great time to teach kids about the election process. Even better - TAKE THEM WITH YOU TO VOTE!
Moms will be getting their news from multiple news sources. But here are some interesting sites:
- The Motherhood has a circle where moms call in the vote if you want to share your story.
- I will be following the election online and on Twitter (CBS News will be providing breaking news, news updates and state-by-state results on Twitter at http://twitter.com/cbsnews throughout Election Day and into the night) and their online website. On the CBS News with Katie Couric website, I found a video called "Campaign '08 Inspires Kids".
- MOMocrats has the Google Election Map up in a post, and information on Election Protection, where to call in voter problems (1-866-OUR-VOTE Hotline, or visit: www.866ourvote.org).
- Silicon Valley Moms Group bloggers will be posting with their thoughts before and after the election.
- DailyKos: State of the Nation
- Huffington Post
Obama won the Scholastic Kid's Election Poll by the way, kids know best...
