New Nintendo DS Lite Family Game - Mystery Case Files™: MillionHeir™

Hpim0469 It was very mysterious.... First I got a unmarked FEDEX in my mailbox with a case file made out to "Rookie Detective". The note said that "Phil T. Rich is missing. See enclosed people to talk to. Some may have info to share." I finally realized it was from the Master Detective that was coming over for a visit. My 9 year old son (Lightning) and I (TechMama the mystery buff) read over the case files of some shady characters: Justine Time (Amateur Inventor), Dusty Graves (Musician/Sheriff), Manny Cotti (Chef), Emmy Daynow (Actress).....

Hpim0454 Hpim04602Yesterday the Master Detective and the Police showed up at our door. We were happy to finally solve the mystery using a Nintendo Silver DS Lite (coming out Sept. 7) and the new game (coming out on Sept. 8th) called Mystery Case Files™: MillionHeir™, which was safely tucked in the Policewomen's briefcase.....

Techmama and her son Lightning will continue to work together to solve the mystery....

**************************************************************

Mystery Case Files™: MillionHeir™  is a new seek and solve game made for the Nintendo DS™. The interactive detective story is set up for multiplayer - or working together as one team - through 30 detailed scenes with 12 potential heirs to examine and more than 1,000 hidden objects to find.

I admit that I am a mystery buff, and really busy games make me dizzy. So I was excited to try playing the game with my family, working together to find the clues. The game is easy to use but has multiple levels of mystery built in - as you progress in the game. Mysterious music sets the tone as you look for clues. After a day of trying out the game, I decided to ask (then record) my 9 year old son's  (Lightning) feedback on the game. He worked extra hard at school today to earn his precious screen time with his new game!

TechMama: Tell me about Mystery Case Files™: MillionHeir™.

Lightning: Mystery Case Files is the only game that is actually fun and helps you develop brain strength (I think - my brain feels like it has a workout when I play). It is a fun game, but it is good to play the game with someone else to help figure out some of the mysteries. I enjoy reading the instructions that come up on the screen from the different characters. Different characters give you different items.

(TechMama thinks how she appreciates any activity that works brains....)

TechMama: Is it fun to play the game with your mom?

Lightning: Yeah, sure!

TechMama: I enjoyed finding the items together, remember when you asked me what a Treble Clef, Obelisk and Sai were and I found it (with alittle help from Wikipedia...) ? Yeah Mom!

Lightning: (major eye roll)

TechMama: Tell me more about the game.

Lightning: You can move around the room to help find the missing items. When you find the right item, it makes a magic sound and disappears. You can get different items from different people and can use them to find more pictures of people that you need to investigate.

With the game’s intuitive touch-screen control, fans can quickly delve into the world of Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir and begin their investigation. Players use special analytical tools and interact with on-screen objects simply by using the Nintendo DS stylus.

Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir also includes game-sharing with DS Download Play so friends and family can share the experience.

Game storyline: Shortly after returning from six months on his ultra-plush yacht visiting the far reaches of the globe, eccentric millionaire Phil T. Rich mysteriously disappears from his mansion and is presumed dead. Hired by Mr. Rich’s estate, a highly skilled Master Detective is brought in to solve the case and find the rightful heir to his fortune.

How to progress through the game: Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir takes a bold step into Touch Generations with a new game in the accomplished Mystery Case Files series from Big Fish Games. Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir is a seek-and-solve game in which players assume the role of a detective who investigates a set of unique characters by finding cleverly hidden items in their environments. The objects are displayed in plain sight but are seamlessly interwoven into the illustration, making them challenging to find. Once a player finds enough hidden objects in a certain area, the character and area will be considered investigated. The player will then be prompted to move to the next potential clue.

Characters: Phil T. Rich and a rich cast of possible heirs.

Mini-games: Finding hidden objects is not the only activity in Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir. Between investigations, players are presented with entertaining brain teasers that must be solved in order to progress. These mini-games add to the depth of the experience by including game-play mechanics that reach beyond the core searching elements. All of the mini-games use the Nintendo DS stylus in ways that provide a true Touch Generations experience.
