Obama VP Choice - Notice On Email
I signed up for campaign updates on BarackObama.com without realizing it would put me ahead of the game. This morning at 7:42am I received notice that Barack Obama chose Joe Biden to be his running mate.

Blecherman --
I have some important news that I want to make official.
I've chosen Joe Biden to be my running mate.
Joe and I will appear for the first time as running mates this
afternoon in Springfield, Illinois -- the same place this campaign
began more than 19 months ago.
I'm excited about hitting the campaign trail with Joe, but the two of
us can't do this alone. We need your help to keep building this
movement for change.
Please let Joe know that you're glad he's part of our team. Share your personal welcome note and we'll make sure he gets it:

Thanks for your support,
Barack
P.S. -- Make sure to turn on your TV at 2:00 p.m. Central Time to join us or watch online at http://www.BarackObama.com.

My husband did not finish reading the newspaper until after 8am.. When he asked me if I had heard the news, I said "of course, Barack already sent me an email this morning".
Now, I have to admit I received the news so quickly because I happened to check my BlackBerry at 8am and saw the campaign update. With three boys, I usually have zero (zilch, nada) personal time in the morning so my only chance is to sneak a quick look at email updates on my BlackBerry.
I could have also found out on Twitter (says the LA Times via Techmeme and my Twitter buddies). I am sure I will see the news chat on my social networks once I start taking a look at them. Best yet, I saw breaking news yesterday on Momocrats that the secret service was heading to Sen. Joe Biden's house.
But I think getting the email from Barack is probably the most fun way to get the news. The personal touch is always the best....
